Bill Of Sale Instructions

Be sure to check with your local DMV (Department of Motor Vehicles) to insure that this bill of sale is appropriate for your state. They may also have copies that are acceptable within your jurisdiction.

The following are suggestions for completing the transaction and the Bill of Sale:

1. Be sure to ask the Buyer for proper identification prior to any test drives or the final transaction.

2. Write down their name and address and leave it with someone prior to the test drive.

3. Once you have completed the negotiations for your vehicle be sure to have the buyer sign a release of liability form. ( This form can be found in the forms section at ispotdeals.com) In some states it is recommended that you maintain your insurance coverage for at least ten days beyond the sale so as to limit your liability till the new buyer transfers the title and acquires his own insurance. Again be sure to check with your local DMV.

4. If buyer is paying for the vehicle with a check be sure to guarantee the funds with the bank that the check is drawn on. It is recommended that you have the buyer pay with a certified check, cashiers check, bank draft or a transfer of funds. A transfer of funds is the most highly recommended as the funds can be verified by your bank. If you have questions concerning financing or the payoff of any loans please contact your lender for instructions.

5. This Bill of Sale should not be used for a deposit on a vehicle. If you need a deposit receipt you may print one out from the forms section at ispotdeals.com.
